Veterinary Technicians

Having been with Clearwater Veterinary Centre since 1999, Maryon is considered to be the rock of the practice. She is steadfast and calm no matter how hectic the practice gets. She hails from Rocky and says she didn't choose a career in veterinary medicine - it chose her because it was such a natural fit. Maryon graduated from NAIT in 1983 with her Diploma in Animal Health Technology. Maryon is a past board member of Alberta Association of Animal Health Technologists and past vice president of Canadian Association of AHT's. She has also been the recipient of the AAAHT recognition award twice, a NAIT alumni award and was named AHT of the Year by CAAHT. Maryon is married with 2 children and, although they have moved out, she hopes to have grandchildren soon. In her free time, Maryon enjoys hiking out west, cross country skiing and spending time with her family.

Laura hails from Edmonton, Alberta, where she grew up attending a local summer camp here in Rocky Mountain House and fell in love with the small town atmosphere and the mountains close by. She graduated from Olds College from the Animal Health Technology program in 2014, and after completing her practicum at the Clearwater Veterinary Centre, was excited to be accepted on as full time staff. Some of Laura's interests here at the clinic includes anything involving large animal, geriatric care, caring for any hospitalized patients and emergency care.

In her free time, Laura enjoys riding her horses, camping out west during the summer, hiking, snowboarding during the winter, spending time out at her family cottage and playing with her dogs Todd and Missy.

Tina grew up on a small farm in northern Alberta and has always enjoyed working with animals. She started her career by taking the Animal Health Technology program in Fairview and graduated in 2011. After working for a few years, she decided to venture south and has been part of the Clearwater Veterinary Team since the fall of 2014. Tina enjoys the mixture of large and small animal work that the Clearwater Veterinary Centre has to offer. Some of her favorites include anesthesia, caring for hospitalized patients and anything to do with cattle. When Tina is not at the clinic, she spends her time travelling, quading, and hanging out with her Shih Tzu Rosie.

Caitlin grew up living in small town Ponoka, Alberta and has always had a passion for animals. Her interests in both small and large animal medicine brought her to Clearwater Veterinary Centre. After completing her practicum at the clinic and graduating from the Animal Health Technology Program at Lakeland College in 2017, she was thrilled to be hired full time. She enjoys the variety of working with both small and large animals and treating hospitalized patients.

In her free time, Caitlin loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Erin grew up in small town Czar, Alberta, originally starting a career running her own business as a professional pet stylist. But after 4 years in the business, she was looking for a change. She graduated with distinction from Lakeland College in 2010 as a Veterinary Technologist. She spent the last 8 years working in a very busy small animal veterinary practice in Wetaskiwin, until married life brought her to Rocky Mountain House. She has a passion for client education, both small and large animal reproduction work and hospitalized patient care.

In her spare time, Erin enjoys doing agility with her dog Keira and spending time working with the cows on her husband's family dairy farm.

Gale has been with the clinic since 1993, she works reception, does our drug orders and runs K9 obedience and puppy classes. Gale grew up in Wapella, Saskatchewan on a farm and has always loved animals. Her education includes a Diploma in Western Horsemanship. Gale's special interests include teaching dog lessons and K9 bite prevention classes for young children, particularly because animal behavior has always been an interest of hers. She also enjoys working with the clients. After 20 years they seem like old friends!

Gale is married and has 2 children and when she isn't hard at work, Gale loves the outdoors - hiking, camping, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and hanging out with her family as well as homeschooling her 2 children.

Amanda grew up on a mixed farm in southern Alberta where her family ran a cheese production factory. Graduating from Olds College in 2006, she spent several years working at a bovine artificial insemination facility after graduation as a laboratory technician. Amanda then transferred to a very busy small animal veterinary practice for 6 years where she became passionate about surgery, post-surgical patient care and educating clients with new puppies!

Amanda moved to the Rocky area in 2015 and spends her free time outdoors, riding horses, taking photos, and training her dogs - 1 standard poodle named Noah and two blue heelers, Mustard and Kiwi, for rally obedience and pet therapy.

Brooke hails to us from a small beach/farming community south of Vancouver BC, called Tsawwassen. Since 2002, Brooke has worked in many facets of Veterinary medicine, including for an Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Veterinary Dermatologists, a few Equine practices and a few small animal hospitals, all in the Lower Mainland of BC. She has a passion for animals that started when she was just a kid and feels incredibly blessed to be able to work a job that she not only loves, but really cares about.

In her free time, Brooke can be found hanging around the barn, the curling rink or the baseball diamonds. When you can't find her around town, it is most likely because she has gone into the bush for hunting, fishing, camping and 4x4ing with her husband and two little girls.

Jana originally hails from a quaint town in Germany and came to Canada in 2017. After spending 6 months doing work experience with the clinic, she joined the team in 2019.
